MLIA pick I and MLIA pick II. XD

omgsrsly. Mika. Makes my life. So much more awesome. It's just tragic that I won't be able to synch my iPod to have this stuff for another two weeks. I'm already totally in love with it. XD

But seriously. Pick Up Off the Floor and Dr. John. SERIOUSLY.

Anyway... )

Was happiness a fad?
Or was it in the Lost and Found again, behind the issues
It might not be so bad
We're all addicted to our tragedy
I guess it's what it had to be

- "Nothing on My Back" - Sum 41 -

Yesterday. And then today. Wow. Exciting. )

...trufax.

tierfal: (Namikawa)
I meant for this to get posted yesterday, but the sketchy stolen half-assed neighbors' wireless failed me yet again. :|

This is the solitary disadvantage of being home, and the price I pay for free food and whatnot. XD

LOOOOOVE!!!!! ...and lolwut, and wtf English language. :P )

And now... our feature presentation, in which no offense to anyone involved is really intended, though asses were laughed off at their expense. Neither Mr. Pattison nor his hair was harmed in the making of this entry. (The hair, we have reason to believe, is a separate entity and will be receiving its own apology accordingly.)

LOL WHAT CANNES LOL. XD )

Aaanndd... Anonymous Writing Feedback Meme. Hit me. I can handle it. ;)

I've come to realize
Where happiness lies
I want you to know
I know

Blaahhhh endless fic stuff, with Death Note spoilers free of charge. Quickly gets bogged down in an overzealous analysis of random shit at the end of Book 12. )

Umm... I saw this on the way back from retrieving a graded paper today. There was also one that said "smile" and one that said "keep your head up."

They know us too well. o____o

And if you've got the Anna Nalick song stuck in your head now, you're not alone. XD (Also, DAMN, she's hot. I would TOTALLY do her plz.)

And now I'm going to go watch an episode of "Doctor Who" that has Colin Morgan in it, and you can't stop me. >D

Stuff.

Fic stuff, Theater 10 stuff, The Cars, and O-Fic. )

And... the moment you've all been waiting for with marshmallow-y, bated breath:

Peep Art I and Peep Art II.

I have unleashed something terrifying.

And covered in yellow sugar.

The fact that the strawberry jam jar and the TEIN Free Robots van are in the same picture is obviously a complete coincidence.

Love Like Winter
A.F.I.

Warn your warmth to turn away
Here it's December every day
Press your lips to the sculptures, and surely you'll stay
For of sugar and ice, I am made
I am made

It's in the blood
It's in the blood
I met my love before I was born
He wanted love
I taste of blood
He bit my lip and drank my war
From years before
From years before

She exhales vanilla lace
I barely dreamt her yesterday
Read the lines in the mirror through the lipstick trace
(Por siempre)
She says "It seems you're somewhere far away"
To his face

It's in the blood
It's in the blood
I met my love before I was born
She wanted love
I taste of blood
She bit my lip and drank my war
From years before
From years before

Love like winter
Oh-oh, oh-oh
Love like winter
Winter
(Three, four)

It's in the blood
It's in the blood
I met my love before I was born
He wanted love
I taste of blood
He bit my lip and drank my war
From years before
From years before

I've had this CD for a year and a half, and I only just noticed that "Summer Shudder" and "Love Like Winter" are separated by a single song.

Yeah, so, there are these kids, see, who are in Africa, see, who are starving.  And I'm sitting here bitching because it'll probably take a day or two to get my computer back.

I ARE TEH INGRATEZORZ.

Anyways... dropped my baby off with some computer folks who said they'd look at it and call me with a free estimate before the day's out.  So long as this emergency surgery costs less than the price of the entire machine, and provided that they can get my honeybun into the E.R. in a timely fashion, they've got themselves a sale, damn it.  That thing is my life.  Pathetically sad but true.

I'm slightly concerned on behalf of my music and my pictures, which exist nowhere else, but even if the procedure is unexpectedly invasive and wipes my hard-drive and destroys everything I care about, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to lose any writing, because it's all either backed up on external disks or sent to [info]eltea, because that is the Tierfal Way.

Nonetheless, it's a right pain in the patootie.

...did I really just type that in a semi-public place?  Heavens.

In other news, I ran into the director of the play I was in last semester outside of Longs, so we stood there talking for ten minutes or so, me holding my gallon of milk the whole time.  Yeah.  It was legit.  That man gives hugs that make you fear for the safety of your ribs.

I think I'll attempt to type up some of the bazillion pages of written fic the weekend's train trips yielded.  It shall be emailed to myself in proper semi-kewl fashion.

I'm not sure whether I'm optimistic today, or just on crack.  The jury seems to be out on that one.  Not that that's unusual in my case...

I wrote the gospel on giving up
(You look pretty sinking)
But the real bombshells have already sunk
(Prima donnas of the gutter)
At night, we're painting your trash gold
While you sleep
Crashing not like hips or cars
No, more like p-p-p-parties

I've had "Getting Away with Murder" by Papa Roach on repeat all day today.  To class, from class -- well, actually, most of that was talking on the phone to [livejournal.com profile] eltea, come to think of it -- and on the train to get much of the way home.

WHY, you ask?  I'LL TELL YOU!

Answer under the cut, omg!! :O )
You say "raving, drooling, lunatic-fangirl" like it's a bad thing... D:

Cat's Out

I have been converted to shoulder-bag-ism by my beauteous, extraordinarily-geeky-even-for-me Barnes & Noble quote bag.  It just beats the living hell out of my (admittedly faithful) backpack.

Damn straight.

Went out for sushi this evening, 'cause one of my roommate's boyfriends and her and another roommate's mutual very-good friend were here.  Saw some people I hadn't in a while.  Felt that irksome pressure of making myself be social when my the majority of the fibers of my being are rebelling against doing so.

Yeah, that's all I got.

Life -- is -- but -- a
Dream
For the dead
And I
Well, I won't go down by myself
But I'll go down with my friends

"All That I Am"
Rob Thomas

I am the one-winged bird for flying
Sinking quickly to the ground
See your faith in me subsiding
See you prime for giving in...
I give you all that I am

I am the sound of love's arriving
Echoed softly on the sand
Lay your head upon my shoulder
Lay your hand within my hand...
I give you all that I am

And I breathe... where you breathe
Let me stand... where you stand
With all that I am

I am the white dove for a soldier
Ever marching as to war
I would give my life to save you
I stand guarding at your door...
I give you all that I am

I am the one-winged bird for flying
Sinking quickly to the ground
I am the blind man for a watchdog
I am prime for giving in...
I'll show you all that I am

And I breathe... so you'll breathe
Let me stand... so you'll stand
With all that I am

...anyways.  This week wiped the floor with my bad self.

"...but I wos just borrowin', I wos...."

Hope for the Hopeless
A Fine Frenzy

Stitch
In your knitted brow
And you don't know how
You're gonna get it out
Crushed
Under heavy chest
Trying to catch your breath
But it always beats you by a step
All right, now

Making the best of it
Playing the hand you get
You're not alone in this

There's hope for
The hopeless
There's hope for
The hopeless
There's hope...

Cold
In a summer breeze
Yeah, you're shivering
On your bended knee
Still
When your heart is sore
And the heavens pour
Like a willow bending with the storm
You'll make it

Running against the wind
Playing the cards you get
Something is bound to give

There's hope for
The hopeless
There's hope for
The hopeless
There's hope...

There's hope

I'm a sucker for love songs.  I admit it.

"Calling You"
Blue October
There's something that I can't quite explain
I'm so in love with you
You'll never take that away
And if I said it a hundred times before
Expect a thousand more
You'll never take that away

Well, expect me to be
Calling you to see
If you're okay when I'm not around
Askin' if you love me
I love the way you make it sound
Calling you to see
Do I try too hard to make you smile?
To make us smile

Well, I will keep calling you to see
If you're sleeping, are you dreaming?
If you're dreaming, are you dreaming of me?
I can't believe you actually picked
Me

I thought that the world had lost its sway
(It's so hard sometimes)
Then I fell in love with you
(Then came you)
And you took that away
(It's not so difficult; the world is not so difficult)
You take away the old
Show me the new
And I feel like I can fly when I stand next to you
So while I'm on this phone
A hundred miles from home
I'll take the words you gave and send them back to you

I only want to see
If you're okay when I'm not around
Askin' if you love me
I love the way you make it sound
Calling you to see
Do I try to hard to make you smile?
To make us smile

I will keep calling you to see
If you're sleeping, are you dreaming?
If you're dreaming, are you dreaming of me?
I can't believe you actually picked
Me

Word Up

Yes, indeedly, I'm home at long last... I took a shower this morning, in my real-and-true-and-mine bathroom, which, while we're still having an ant problem, was quite devoid of the crickets that sometimes enjoy congregating in the one in Oak Ridge.  Also, around here, the water's never cold, even if somebody did just take a shower before you.  And even in the Death Humidity of Tennessee, cold showers aren't refreshing for more than about a minute before you're just howling inwardly and hurrying your freezing ass up...

I think that made sense?

I am now going to scuttle off and type up the eight -- count 'em, eight -- handwritten pages I threw together on the various planes.  And yes, it's for the last piece of the 'HaM' series.  Don't get too excited, though; most of it's fairly sub-par... I blame the stale plane air.  Rather than, y'know, my inability to write. XD

Well, I'm not paralyzed
But I seem to be struck by you
I wanna make you move
Because you're standing still
If your body matches what your eyes can do
You'll prob'ly move right through
Me on my way to you

- "Paralyzer" - Finger Eleven -

...That is a really interesting video.  Creative, cool, and quite unexpected.  Give it a go.

Started this game yesterday afternoon, left the computer on Standby for something like eighteen hours, and then came back to it...

Karma: good
Life: needed, stat

Haven't done much else at all today, other than binging on Audioslave.

"The Last Remaining Light"

Roll me on your frozen fields
Break my bones to watch them heal
Drown me in your thirsty veins
Where I'll watch, and I'll wait
And pray for the rain

Curl like smoke and breathe again
Down your throat, inside your ribs
Through your spine in every nerve
Where I watch, and I wait
And yield to the hurt

And if you don't believe the sun will rise
Stand alone and greet the coming night
In the last remaining light

Seven moons and seven suns
Heaven waits for those who run
Down your winter and underneath your waves
Where you watch, and you wait
And pray for the day

And if you don't believe the sun will rise
Stand alone and greet the coming night
In the last remaining light

...one of my favorites, that.

I also kind of love how Chris Cornell pretty much invariably sounds like he's straining his voice just short of the point at which his vocal cords will snap irreparably...
tierfal: (Blue Rose)
Sometimes, I randomly get to thinking of a song, and then it's stuck in my head until I pry it out with pliers.

Settle down now and sit with me
Let me tell you how this all came to be
A yellow flower with your petals to the air
Flying on paper wings that brought you here

Summer rolls on in lazy hours
An ether dream way of hummingbirds and clouds
Midnight swims in the cool black waves
And you in my arms as it rolls away

Little dandelion
Let your heart keep time
Now the clouds are gone
All your tomorrows shine

-- "Dandelion" -- Audioslave --

Day Four

Jun. 24th, 2008 03:15 pm
tierfal: (Trust Me)
Tomorrow, it'll be halfway done.  WHOOOOOO.

So we're in Canada now, which kind of worries me.

There actually isn't much picspam this time, 'cause my camera battery is virtually dead, and I spent the vast majority of the car ride trying and failing to sleep.

But yeah, just five more days to go....

....o__________o

I'm coming back, love
Cool Heathcliff
My one dream
My only master

- "Wuthering Heights" - Pat Benatar -

This song gave me unrealistic expectations about the book.  Like expectations that the book wouldn't suck.

Win!

Jun. 10th, 2008 07:00 pm
tierfal: (Soap)
Yes, today definitely went from fail to win, courtesy of [profile] eltea, the boyf (who is now, as [profile] baronanriel, the proud owner of a currently empty LiveJournal... evidently, LJ is an infectious disease), and Gerard.  Gerard, you see, is in a vast variety of pictures, making a vast variety of faces, allowing me to assemble a Gerard mood theme.  It's far from perfect at the moment, but I'm still extremely pleased with myself.

MWAHAHAHAHA.

Well, I know a thing about contrition
Because I got enough to spare
And I'll be granting your permission
'Cause you haven't got a prayer
Well, I said, Hey, hey, hallelujah
I'm gonna come on, sing the praise
And let the spirit come on through ya
We got innocence for days!

-- "House of Wolves" -- My Chemical Romance --
tierfal: (Cake or Death)
Okay, technically yesterday.  Since it's now one thirty in the morning.

SO MUCH CRAP HAPPENED TODAY YESTERDAY.

Your MCR lyrics for today yesterday, brought to you by your friendly neighborhood fanatic:

Can you hear me?
Are you near me?
Could we pretend
To leave and then
We'll meet again
When both our cars collide

-- My Chemical Romance (you're like, WHAT?!), "Helena"

I am in love with his facial expression at one minute and thirty-two seconds.  F'SHO.
